NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in CJ 13 Orange Review

Hello Everyone,

Today I am reviewing NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in CJ 13 Orange for you guys. I wanted to try out a orange corrector for some time now but I didn’t want to shell out big bucks because I was not sure if it's gonna work out for me. While browsing through drugstore alternatives I came across this one from NYX. I have tried few NYX products in the past and loved them but I never tried a concealer from them so this is my first one. Let’s see how this one fared out.

Product Description: Our Full Coverage Concealer hides the villains of dark circles and blemishes with a vengeance. Available with an arsenal of shades and an advanced formula that provides long-lasting full coverage.

Price: $5

Packaging: It comes in a small transparent plastic jar with a black screw on cap.

Performance: NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in CJ 13 Orange. This is really a bright orange shade. The actual product feels like a stiff cream in the pot but it applies nicely and blends easily into the skin. I like to scoop out a little product and warm it up a bit between my fingers before application and I find it helps in applying the product more evenly. I use this product as a corrector rather than a concealer. This helps cancel out the dark bluish purple pigmentation or under eye circles. You can apply it before your foundation or after it; I find it works fine both ways. It blends easily into the skin and once blended it looks like a tint and cancels all the darkness and you can go ahead with your concealer on top. It doesn’t feel heavy under the eyes and neither does it looks cakey. I love how pigmented this is and little goes a long way. I took me a little while to figure out actually how I much is required before going overboard. So I would say start with a little bit and see what works for you. Though it is a cream product, finish of it is matte so the under eye area doesn’t get greasy or oily but neither does it dry out the area. As a thumb rule you should always moisturize your eye area before putting any product and the same goes for this one. If you apply a thin layer of it and blend it nicely and apply your normal concealer on top of it and then set everything with powder it looks nice and stays put for 6 - 7 hours but after that it starts to crease a little bit but not too much and can be fixed with a light touch up.

The Good:

  • Perfect colour corrector for skin discolouration.
  • Blends easily
  • Highly pigmented
  • Light weight
  • Not too oily or greasy
  • Decent staying power
  • Affordable
  • Nice shade range

The Bad:

  • Packaging is not very hygienic
  • Might not work for very fair skin.

If you have severe dark circles and no matter what concealer you use you don’t get the desired look and under eye area looks ashy then this is for you. This wouldn’t miraculously give you flawless look but it definitely helps a lot with discolouration and makes a huge difference which is visible. I really love using this product. Plus this is so affordable so I would totally recommend trying it out.
